A very cool heritage building in a good, easy to find area. The yard is littered with fun activities, a patio and a fire pit. The staff were all very friendly and inviting. The trivia night was tremendous fun.

Lovely little hostel to stay in. Booked in as a group on a road trip and the staff made everything very easy. Cozy rooms, free breakfast ingredients, welcome beer, and movie night. Sad it was only one night, would certainly stay again!

Spread across five buildings in Portland's Nob Hill/Northwest district, the Northwest Portland Hostel has grown over the years to offer something for everyone. There are dorms and private rooms, including some especially designed to accommodate families. There's even a cafe with food, drinks, happy hour specials, and live entertainment.
The location is a perfect base for exploring Portland's Nob Hill and the Pearl District, with a vibrant art scene, cobblestone streets, and of course, Portland's famous craft brewery scene.
Great stay at this hostel! Within walking distance to most major downtown attractions, clean, safe, and friendly service. Nice common areas too. My favorite touch was the little cubby spaces Thad accompanied each bed (in the dorm rooms) with an outlet.

I was very impressed with the staff & facility & will come again! As a solo woman traveler, I felt very safe and welcome! The top bunk was a bit of a challenge for me to navigate at age 65 and the bed was a bit stiff, but for the cleanliness, modern amenities & friendly environment, I will happily return!!!

If all hostels were like this, I'd probably never stay in hotels/Airbnb's. Great staff (especially the Aussie lad), great cafe (free breakfast bagel or $3 discount on menu items - always delicious). Cool building/common spaces in a nice neighborhood. Easy walk downtown. Dorms and bathrooms are spot on.

I was in Vegas for a night, but I would love to stay at this hostel for a longer period of time. The staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. The room where I lived was clean, all the furniture you need you can either find in the kitchen or ask a manager. The location is perfect - it’s on the Strip, so you you can enjoy all the sights just walking around! And there some free tours which you can take - the info is on the reception)))

Great hostel, lovely staff, great atmosphere, great price, can get $8 24-hr bus ticket down to strip, bus takes about 30 mins or strip is 50 minutes walk to main part, only negative is distance from strip but it’s fine with the transport, I got Lyfts or Ubers back at night as area is a little scary is travelling alone due to being a bit run down and quite a few homeless. Overall great stay and would recommend if you wanna save money

Not bad. I liked the free parking. But I had an issue with the fact that there is nowhere in the room’s bathroom to put my stuff not even a peg on the wall to hang clothes or towels the sink didn’t have anything near it. There was just the floor. Seems like an easy fix to me though
